What Wheelchair Basketball means to me:
Wheelchair Basketball means a healthy body and mind for me, being a part of the Coastal Chairman Team is an outlet for me to get the physical fitness I need weekly to keep up with my 4 kids. It also gives me camaraderie among my fellow players which is very important to me. I get a great sense of community and fellowship through this program.
Conditions and injuries:
I sustained my injuries while serving with the US Army in the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan during 2010, in Khost Providence. While under enemy fire I was hit by an 88mm recoilless rifle round while being attacked in our C.O.B. I suffered a traumatic amputation of my right leg above the knee, I also loss my left big toe, my right middle finger, I loss some vision in my right eye, and I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury as a result from the blast of the 88mm recoilless round
