I'm a proud USMC veteran and St. Bonaventure graduate. My life took a turn after a motor vehicle accident left me with a spinal cord injury. However, my journey toward resilience and passion began when I discovered adaptive sports at the National Veterans Wheelchair Games in 2014. I instantly fell in love with wheelchair basketball and embraced it wholeheartedly, dedicating the past seven years to playing this sport, along with wheelchair softball and wheelchair rugby league. In 2018, I became a board member of Coastal Adaptive Sports, eventually taking over the basketball program and helping create the Coastal Chairmen wheelchair basketball team in 2019. Today, I proudly serve as the player/coach, and our program has grown to be highly competitive. Adaptive sports have been transformative for me on a personal level. They've provided me with a renewed focus, offering something I do just for myself and eagerly anticipate each week. The camaraderie within the adaptive sports community is nothing short of amazing, and I've forged enduring friendships throughout this journey. My involvement has evolved into a profound passion, and I relish the opportunity to introduce others to the life-changing world of adaptive sports.
